Project Description (project objective): The Police of the Czech Republic in connection with the fulfillment of legal obligations operates about 60 IT systems. These IT systems do not have uniform data models, they use various information technologies and they are located in different geographic locations. Among these IT systems are search systems, systems supporting criminalistics investigation, economics systems, systems supporting personnel agenda and systems shared with the EU member states. Many systems contain particular information that is accessible to the user only within the system itself using its tools. It is therefore very difficult to find relevant context and information across all the systems.
In the framework of the project should be created a single, secure platform, which will connect various heterogeneous sources of information and will allow access to it. With the use of modern technologies - such as advanced indexing and automatic processing of unstructured, semi-structured and structured data – environment will be created, that will allow existing information to be used effectively regardless of the format of the data, data structure or type of information system where data are located. This will automate the whole range of analytical activities and improves the quality and extent of the outputs.
