About Us

South Moravan Region is situated in the very south-east part of the Czech Republic bordering on Austria and Slovakia. The whole area contains 719 555 hectares.
There are approximately 1,140,000 inhabitants living in this area.
There are several advantages of our Region’s location as a very good traffic availability and strategic position on the crossing of trans-european road and railway lines, which are forming an important junction point between western, Eastern, Northern and Southern Europe.
 
The main metropolis of South Moravia is Brno, the second largest city in the Czech Republic with its 386,000 permanent inhabitants, when yet 140,000 persons commute into this city because of study, work or entertainment.
 
Brno is ranked among big industrial agglomerations, it is a centre of business activities, important transport junction and also business, cultural, tourist and social centre of the region.
 
The Supreme Court of Law as well as the Constitutional Court of Law are settled in Brno, along with the Czech Supreme Prosecutor’s Office. Septuagenarian tradition of international trade fairs has contributed to the development of the tourism movement, too.
There are six districts falling within the Directory of Police of the Czech Republic of the South Moravian Region:

Within the frame of Directory of the Czech Police of South Moravian Region there are almost two and half thousands serving police officers.
Within the mentioned directory citizens are allowed to appeal to 41 territorial departments of lower level with their requests and complaints.
